Jeff
Davis & Latter Reign
Psalmist
Jeff Davis was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey on February 4,
1970. He was born to the late Eddie Mae and William A. Davis. At the
age of five, his parents moved their family to Burgaw, North Carolina
as his father began pastoring at Mount Sinai Holy Church. At Mount Sinai,
Jeff began sitting with his father at the organ as he played, sang,
directed and eventually preached every Sunday. At the age of 10, God
began to give him the ability to play the organ, drums and bass guitar.
It became obvious that the organ would be the instrument that he would
be destined and ordained to play. At the age of 14, Jeff wrote his first
song from the 121st division of Psalm. His father, a musician in his
own right, noticed the gift that God had given him and assisted him
by producing his first project in 1992.
In
March of 1998, Jeff moved to Monroe, North Carolina and was introduced
to Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church where the Reverend Osco E. Gardin,
Jr. is the Senior Pastor. Jeff married his beautiful and supportive
wife in 2002 and they are the proud parents of Jeremy age 14, Cha’kiaya
age 10, Elijah age 2 and their newest edition, Majesty. As his skill
continued to grow as the Music director at EMBC, he and Reverend Gardin
shared visions and aspirations concerning the music department and were
privileged to complete their first nationally distributed project in
2002. Jeff wrote 11 of the 12 songs on that project and that was the
beginning of bigger and better things to come.
